South Asia Regional Capacity Building Training in Dhaka and participation of NCCN
Wednesday 10th of October 2007 [ ??????, ???? २३, २०६४ ]

The South Asia Ecumenical Partnership Programme (SAEPP),a joint programme of NCCs in five south Asian countries- Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, organized a south Asia level Regional Capacity Building Training programme in Dhaka from 27 September to 2 October 2007. Representing NCC Nepal five potential young leaders participated in the programme. The organizers had invited Dr. K.B. Rokaya as one of the resource persons for the programme.

This programme had been organized with following objectives;

 

  • To provide training for he prospective ecumenical leaders from the six south Asian countries, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and India to enhance human and organizational potentials to better equip the Churches and the national councils in the region.
  • To help the participants to better understand ecumenical movement and the situation of the Churches in different countries of South Asia and comprehend the same in the background of the global geo political trends.
  • Toe help the new generation leadership evolve ways of addressing the emerging issues, cries and tensions that are part of the social and ecclesial fabric of life and thus also of the ecumenical movement.

  • To help the participants to re-read the scriptures keeping in mind the context in which they are placed and challenges they confront and to introduce them to the various nuances of updated global Biblical scholarship.
  • To help the participants understand the modern trends and techniques of Management and Administration.
  • To help the participants enhance their leadership skills and motivate them towards meaningful ecumenical formation so that they would return and act as trainers and motivators in their national and local contexts.
